This adult common loon was captured in early June . They had just hatched two chicks and were busy diving looking for food. I always enjoy the collection of drops on their head feathers when they surface. Very elegant looking.

Taken from my kayak, northern Michigan.

Z9. 180-600m at 600mm. F/7.1. +1 EV. ISO 2000

Post: LR and PS. Crop for comp.

Cheers

Hi Randy nice portrait with a great low POV
Color and tones looking very good with great control of darks and lights !!!
I think a nightmare to capture and processing ....

IQ has suffered for me .... not really sharp IMHO , too ,large of a crop ??!!!

Hi Randy, the green really works well here as the environment colour, is it any form of algae?

The beads of water are really cool and a little bit different.

You say cropped for comp, do you have more to the right as I can see another open with the whole frame moved to the right by say 1/3 or 1/2???

Thanks guys. I do have more room to the right. It was a significant crop to fit the format of the original posting site.
