The handsome, endemic duck from North America, the American Black Duck, has declined for a variety of reasons. We are lucky to still have them in abundance in certain parts of eastern Canada. Sony a1, 200-600mm lens @600mm. 1/1600s, f7.1, ISO 8000. Processed in Lightroom Classic.

We see them regularly here too, but they are all but ignored by most photographers - maybe too "female mallard-like" for most, which is a shame as they are beautiful subjects! The square crop works well, and I love that you have two subjects, with the background one just blurred enough to ID but not distract.
