We had an ultra-rare visitor to Cape Breton last week- a Marbled Godwit.
Who needs to travel when the bird comes to you?:t3
Canon 1 DX 3 600mm v.3 and 1.4 x v.3
ISO 1000 SS 1/2500 F 7.1
Handheld
PP: Crop to 75% FF Nothing added or cloned. Usual LR sliders then off to PS. luminosity mask needed for whites in the armpits, Denoise to BG and USM to JPEG
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
Gail

Simply put - you nailed this one! great flight angle, lovely light, sharp, good wing position. I like the face you've kept the water in the crop as I like seeing the sharpness fall off in the water for an extra layer to the shot

Well caught that is excellent, lovely position and composition.
Could I suggest make a new adjustment layer, make it a smart object, then go to ACR and use the Targeted adjustment tool in Luminance on the blacks and highlights., just to see if you like the effect.

very fine flight shot Gail, sharp to me, and EXP looks perfecto, nice definition in the water/waves, must have been fun to capture this rarity!

Beautiful light, nice flight pose even if not fully up-wing. Love the low flight path accentuated by the detail in the water. You must have been stoked to get such a nice frame of this rarity.
