Over the years I have dabbled with video just shooting the odd but now and then to give myself a challenge. If anyone is interested here is the last one I did
What I want to work on and improve is the sound. I have been using off camera a little Tascam DR-07x as it was cheap and there was one in the shop window when I walked past. It wasn’t very directional so I added a Senheiser MKE-600 on a smallrig shock mount. Great product from smallrig that little mount, especially at the price of just £8.90 delivered on Amazon. That setup works great off camera but is a bit of a faff for a lazy person like me. So at times, especially if I a clambering on rocks etc I would prefer to lount the mic on camera and use the camera as the recorder. If I place the mic 0N the mount in the hot shoe it gets in the way of the viewfinder. So I am looking for a better way to mount it. I don’t want a cage but any other options or thoughts greatly appreciated. I am very inexperienced at this so all advice very welcome. I only do this for my own enjoyment so don’t want to spend a fortune. Nor am I wanting to be a YouTuber, it is just a good and free repository for sharing with my friends.
