These birds have a nest in the trunk of the tree on the right and young, though we have'nt seen them yet. I am trying out the A9111with the 1.4 on it and seems much faster to pick up the bird and to be working better on my 200/600in good light. The 600 f4 is too big for me to lug around .We will see what happens with the peregrines in a week or two. This male brings in the native rats and feral mice and a snake or two which is fun. And they are extremely fast which also great to watch up close

Its a bit tight perhaps. I am surprised how sharp this lens is on this set up. Grateful for any comment.

Wow! What a pose, and the prey takes this over the top. For my tastes, a bit more room around the bird would help. TFS.

Hi Ian,
That is a great pose with the prey and perfect light angle. Beautiful bird!
The detail under the bird's left wing looks a little hot to me - I would take that back a couple of notches.
I agree with Arash and Sid that the image is very tight, given it is such a dynamic pose.
As A9II user myself, I'm interested to hear of your experience with the A9III. Is it worth the upgrade?

Regards, Gerald

Thanks Artie .Yes better without the tree in which is the nest .I read all your advice about the a 9111 and have had one for a few months . I tried it with the 200/600 plus the 1.4 and could not believe that at 840mm I was getting sharp results and more importantly when you press the release button it is instant. Much faster than the AI in which of course the pixels are needed in low light .When they produce the a1 version 2 it will be something.
Gerald -- This a9111 has been a revolution for me . These birds are incredibly fast and are attacked by all nearby birds including black shouldered Kites. I had the camera at 60 fps and .3 for pre capture. Even my A1 would have to have got lucky to get this frame at 30 fps. Good luck.
