Nap in a hot tub750.jpg

This is another from my trip to visit the snow monkeys in Japan. This one was snoozing in the warm water of the natural hot spring. Outside temperature, 30 degrees F. I had to deal with the steam rising off the water. I wanted to get in there but it is, in fact, a big monkey toilet bowl so I passed on the opportunity. :)

I did not shoot with enough DOF here otherwise it is a really great image. :):):):):)

C and C most welcome.

Mark III, 7-200 @111mm, f/6.3, ISO 800.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve never thought about the toilet bowl effect !!!! I know those animals are not known for their hygiene !!!!!

Agree on your assessment regarding dof Still one fine image We can only wish Love the captured look !!! Big Congrats !!!

Hi Steve,
Maybe if you bring the steam up a little more.........DOF is not such a big issue as it is pretty good already on my monitor. We don't normally want the eyes closed....but in this one it works very well,

Fantastic image, DOF is fine IMO, inclusion of the reflection makes this a very strong image, and therefore I do not mind the eyes being closed. The facial expressions of these monleys are so cool. As for the steam, I think that is what adds the atmosphere and it could actually usesome more.

looks like a mother relaxing in a warm tub after a full day.......another wonderful image in the series Steve

Just getting there and having the picture is amazing enough but you have yourself a wonderful image here. The colsed eyes show how relaxed they are in this envoroment and distractions of photographers all round, Amazing picture and Very well done.

I didn't notice anything wrong with the depth of field until I read your note. I think it is a great photo. Lots of mood, beautiful color and great expression.
