This photo was taken on a pelagic trip out of Westport, Washington on my recent trip out west. 40 miles off shore we ran into a shrimp boat with all kinds of seabirds around. Luckily the sun came out for a few moments when this fulmar came flying by. Most of the day was spent in fog and 9 foot rollers, but 8 life birds and many good photos. If your ever out that way check them out, website below:

Hi Paul, sounds like you had a succesful trip! Too bad the fulmar is flying away, but still an image of a species most would like to have.

Very nice flight image with excellent color and detail. It is always great to see the topside. My only wish would have been for you to capture it a bit sooner but still a very fine image as is. Thanks for sharing.

The detail on the beak is wonderful! You may have caught him on the way past but it's still a lovely image.

I like this a lot, sharpness is great and exposure is perfect, BG is nice, some eye contact would've made of this great shot a GREAT GREAT shot. Congratulations!

agree with all of the above comments - only thing I would add is - the eye looks a little dark - it might be possible to improve it a bit in P.S.
Congrats

The eye seems too dark to my taste but it is very easy to fix that on PS. Too bad that the bird is flying away. Exposure seems very good and details are fantastic. Love the BG and the soft light. 8 life birds in a day! lucky man:)
