Gear: Canon R7 with 400mm f5.6 L lens, handheld in manual mode
Details: f5.6 / 1/2000sec / ISO 400

HI Ramon,
Surprising that you have not received any comments on this image.
The shot looks well exposed and the detail in the feathers look good.
For me the crop is too tight. You could easily add space on the left and above the bird if you have it - give the bird some space to move into, giving a greater sense of the environment. You could also look at removing the dark patches above the bird and in the top right corner.

Thanks for sharing,

Gerald

Thank you Gerald for your suggestions. I'll go back and look at the raw file again.

Hi Ramon, firstly apologies in my replies calling you Ray!

I agree with Gerald, the bird is well exposed and brimming with detail and clarity, especially in the plumage, but overall it's a bit dark as presented. Yes, pulling back to create more space all round would be good and if you have it, definitely more below. Personally I don't like the blue/black areas in the BG and if depending on your ethics you chose to remove them, then easy with some simple masks and layers and I feel the capture would benefit, but your call. Again, personal choice but reducing the blues does help in the whites which do have some good detail.
I also added a little more USM sharpening and hopefully the attached clarifies my comments.

Thank you Steve, I see your point especially the background masks and layers. Do you have a tutorial on doing this, I would like to learn for future edits.

The repost is better. But the whites of the head still have a big BLUE cast. Otherwise decent but the bird should be a bit more back in the frame.

with love, artie
