Been out of the nest [ledge ]for a few days. Taken from a hide constructed 2 years ago about 30 metres from the nest.which is now directly below her [Ithink].got rid of some shiny gum tree trunks on the left

Wow that's a peach! loving the colours and the focus is spot on. The pose is very appealing and the background ideal.
 
Hi Ian ... stunning subject nicely captured .
Subject is posing well and the perch is looking good .
The only thing is the overall warm yellowish light across the scene ... not bad in general , but I might try to get more emphasize of the subject by brightening or even darkening the BG and / or changing the color grade . Just to get more attention to the subject . Just my 2cents .
This is actually complaining on a high level .... and really being picky .
If this was mine I would be very pleased

Hi Ian, a cool capture, and the light does give/convey that nice evening light, but you could just open it up a lot more, which emphasises even more the fine detail and gorgeous plumage. The catchlight is what makes it for me and that subtle head turn. If you have the content the raising the whole frame up a sliver would help, I just feel its a wee bit close to the foot of the frame.
