Hi folks ... one from earlier this year .
Funny enough the Squirrels shake themselves each time during the jump to the feeding platform , if they got wet due to heavy rainfall .
Wish I had the chance to try this effect with slow shutter speed , but I think it does not work .... as everything will be just one big blurry mess .
To get the Squirrel sharp ... one needs at least 1/2500 sec and that is already on the exceptable border .
Color and tone could be discussed ... :p

Canon EOS R6 II
EF 200 - 400 IS L at 400 mm
Tripod
Infrared trap to fire the camera and hope for the best :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

F 8 ; Iso 5000 ; 1/2500 sec

Processed with PR 4 ; DT 4.8.1 and PSCC 2025 Beta ; cropped for comp and clean up in the bottom area .

THX for watching and commenting to last postings

Cheers Andreas

Again - this proper proper dynamic action makes for a wonderful wildlife image. It cant be easy getting the timing right for such a sharp image considering how fast the subject is moving

THX Basil ... to get the timing is just " easy " , kit on tripod . Fixed focus point ... manual focus and hope the Squirrel will jump in the right angle .
Camera triggered by infrared signal once the Squirrel cross the infrared beam . But not always working ... as sometimes they just sit for a few seconds on the perch before jumping . The camera fires tons of images with the Squirrel being completely OOF on the perch :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: . Other times the Squirrel just running up the perch ...being too fast for the trigger :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I think in 5 out of ten I am getting two usable images per jump . The DOF is quite narrow ... so never more than two images out of. jump .

Cheers Andreas
