Just a fun right out-of-left-field self portrait for you guys! As some of you may know I love to photograph ice...well, on this exceedingly cold April Sunday morning I hit the jackpot! After taking many, many images I thought I would include myself to show how cool (ha! ha!) this was. How cold was it? This ice formed overnight with very cold temperatures and very strong north winds splashing the river's waters (which are about 6 feet below) all over the shrubs and rocks - freezing instantly on contact.
Canon 7DII + 28-75mm f/2.8 @37mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 10 sec. self-timer, 1/1600s., f/8, ISO 800, lots of running and slipping x many takes to get it right:t3

OMG! Daniel, I can only imagine how cold that is. The temperature in sunny Queensland where I live can get down to -5 (celcius) and we may get a frost, but to live, work and...well, play in it. Did you have an audiance? I can visualise you running back to that spot over and over just to "get it right"

Thanks for sharing Dan. It's given me a good smile before heading off to work.

What fun to share this image with us. You look even more bundled up in cold than you were when Doug and I were visiting you. Thanks for taking the time and showing us what you endure for some of your wonderful images.

Awesome! This is one COOL image, Daniel - thank you so much for sharing!

Warmest regards,

Daniel:

Sorry to be so late to the party, hope it is a bit warmer there now! Great fun indeed.

Cheers

Randy
