St. Maarten experience, anyone?

I'm accompanying my family to St. Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles for a couple of weeks in June. I plan to do a bit of snorkeling and just general relaxing, but wonder if anyone here has any knowledge of birding/bird photography on the island or on some of the local rocks.Thanks in advance.

Well, no one answered so I am down here exploring on my own. It's a beautiful place with lots of unfamiliar birds for someone from Phoenix. I'll try and post some thoughts when I get back. I will say that I saw more green herons in a tiny area in a marsh in Phillipsburg than I've seen before in my life - and, unlike the ones back home, they let me get close!
