Hey folks ...
yesterday I had a surprising visit at my own feeder set up . Was hoping for different species and got this visit , after a long boring afternoon in gorgeous weather .
Visit was brief ... but fun for sure . At some point I had 6 individuals at the feeding spot ... was lucky to isolate one for a short time . Man they were so hectic while feeding .... :ROFLMAO:
Never photographed this species before .... so I was a happy camper .

Canon EOS R1
EF 200 - 400 IS L at 400 mm
Tripod

F 9; Iso 25.600; 1/5000 sec ( I was ready for flight shots for other birds , so the settings are a real overkill for this scenario )

Processed with PR4 ; Darktable 5.1 and PSCC 2025 ; cropped for comp and removed a few sunflower seeds from the soil

THX for watching and commenting to my previous postings

Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, that's a nice rendition of a starling. Unfortunately they are invasive here to the United States (a long time ago someone thought it would be a good idea to introduce every species of bird mentioned in the works of Shakespeare), and they cause a lot of trouble. But they can still be beautiful in their own right. I don't have any suggestions on the photo. The subject and background are all well executed.

Nice one Andreas, good tones and details, I like the set up, the background is super. I doesn't trouble me but I suspect many would prefer a slight head turn. Plenty of time... now you know they are coming I would suggest you hide a small container of meal worms behind the log, you will find the starlings come down in droves and they will squabble so plenty of opportunities for action - very dramatic to see them in flight above the log against that baclground. The action will continue until the chicks have pretty much grown.

THX jon and Dave for your kind comments !!!

© Jon ... a better hand turn would have been nice . Not having time to play around with mealworms , too many other creatures will participate from them while I am not there . But might try if do sit inside the hide.

Cheers Andreas
