The female Blackbird was happily eating the berries, when the Great Spotted Woodpecker flew in, and attempted to chase the Blackbird. There was a squabble for a few seconds, before the GSW gave in, and flew off. This is from a set up. I'm not a big fan of different types of birds in the same image, but thought the interaction here, made the image for me. And it shows a different look for the GSW, rather than the classic against a tree trunk pose. I don't think I've ever seen a woodpecker on a perch so thin before.

I like the shot Will, I agree the interaction is good and I'm pleased the Blackbird retained posssession, I would have bet the reverse would have played out!
I have one reservation, I feel the image is carring too much red, the blackbird has a slight orange glow and the whites in the Woodpecker seem a little bit off to me. Other than that I think it's a peach.

Good point about the perch the woodpecker is on. I love the tail flare of the GSW. I also agree with Jonathon about the reddish cast.

Hi Will ... a super shot , love everything about the overall action .
Color and tones very nice , super backdrop .
Just think the subjects do look too much softened by the NR ... might be just me.
