What a great idea, I haven't seen many close ups of Baboons drinking, the image has great impact, the presence of the left forefoot adds I think.

I like this a lot, Steve.

Nice framing and pose from the subject, those eyes looking up making sure no predators lurking around.
Predators often ambush prey at watering holes so drinking water can be stressful for a great number of species. I see some tension here from the baboon and I think you captured the moment beautifully. Great timing!
Techs look good and my guess is, you were anticipating some action... therefore the SS?
PP looking effortless as usual and subject sharp with lovely detail, colours natural.
A pleasure to view, thank you so much for sharing,

Warmest regards,
Gabriela

Fully agree - its a great image and shows what can be done with seemingly mundane subjects

Thanks Basil, all you can do is take the shot when these opportunities come up, however there is more to come, albeit (great word) as I think we became his comfort blanket.... All will be revealed soon. All the best.

Hi Gabriela, nice to see you back after a fun packed trip. :)

Yes these guys did prove a good source of enjoyment, but I made a few 'rookie' errors on reflection, lesson learnt for next year. Tension, yes you could say that. 👍
