I have watched this robin grow from a fledgling to a really handsome young adult. I call him Boy Wonder.
I do not get a wide variety of birds in the garden, so I spend my time trying to produce the best shots I can get of my regulars.
I am in fact using an outdoor studio, with lights, stage and backdrop. It might not be to everyone’s taste and I have been accused of producing “false images”, but I enjoy what I am doing.
I am a photographer more than a bird watcher. I try to produce pictures I would be happy to mount on my wall. If that involves managing as many elements as I can, then so be it. I make no apologies for setting up a perch next to a feeder. I feed the birds anyway, so if they are happy to pose for me while they are queuing up, then I am happy to take their picture.
I do very little editing of the image, apart from cropping and the limited enhancements possible with Lightroom Mobile and the generic photo app on my iPad.
I appreciate that I will get lots of suggestions of how to improve my images, but as I don’t even possess a computer, there is a limit to what I can change. I do though, welcome your comments.
