Thought I would share this image of a male Wood Duck, after a friend of mine and ex BPN member has been thinking of moving to Mirrorless, but wanted to see a reasonably high ISO image from a older camera body I had, as there is still a lot to be said for some of the DSLR bodies, especially the 1DX series.

Shot on the outskirts of Vancouver where a lot of folk have been to here, just love the overall colourful plumage, quite stunning IMHO, but standing on a less than ideal wood railing. I lightened the overall BKG so the bird hopefully can stand out, even more and left the slight diagonal streak too. Shot tight deliberately.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed the previous posting.

Reifel bird sanctuary! I have similar frames from there, though none were captured at such high ISO. Not that I or anyone else would notice; you've handled the noise beautifully. Exposure looks perfect; details are sweet across the bird. Closing down to f/7.1 was wise. A very nice portrait!

The colours of this bird are quite remarkable! And a very handsome fellow he is.

The detail is fantastic and you have managed the noise extremely well.

Thanks for sharing.
