Lovely image of this zebra and I like the way it stands out among the tall vegetation.

Colours look good and you managed to tame the bright bits in the BG. FG is very nice with the blurry leaves. Good framing and proportion, good choice of DoF, subject sharp with nice detail.

Hope you get to see Africa again and photograph your favourite species. I see zebra often on my way to work and recently saw a few tiny ones...They tend to be shy and hide behind moms at this stage, I just do not have the time nor patience to wait for the right moment to capture them on camera :tinysmile_shy_t:

Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a nice week-end,

Kind regards,

I really like the zebra Andreas colours/tones look ideal - lots of detail there. I am a little curious about the background.... is this simply DOF giving this fuzzy looking effect or perhaps some kind of added "Blur".

Thanks Gabriela and Jon for your kind comments , much appreciated .

@ Gabriela ... well I have only options once in Africa , you live there and you do not have the time or patience to capture a " ordinary " Zebra . I hope you find the time ... one day :bg3:.

@ Jon ... nothing done to the BG in terms of blurring . It is just the Bokeh of the lens combo.

Cheers Andreas

Andreas, I do realise I have become a bit 'complacent'... as I am constantly surrounded by wildlife. I see zebra on my way to work almost every day but you know what it's like, you cannot just stop and shoot, you have to wait for the right moment. I feel guilty if I am late for work, have to be an example to my staff and pitch up in time every day. So unless I see something really special I keep going:w3 Ordnung muss sein, right?
