Lovely Hyena image in good light. It is nicely sharp and the quirky pose and weathered ear do a good job of portraying this species characteristics. Having got some catch light in both those dark eyes really adds to the image imo. Perhaps a tighter crop would be worth exploring
 
I love hyenas! Hyenas are actually super predators and have amongst the most powerful jaws in the animal kingdom. I collect and study carnivore skulls and I can tell you that a hyena skull is massively heavy, deeply crested for muscle attachment and the teeth are like heavy conical hammers designed for crushing and smashing bone. I agree with Basil on the tighter crop since the surroundings are unvaried and a closer crop would indeed show us some details of this tough customer. He/she looks rough and ready to brawl. It looks like nice light and exposure.
