Long time reader/first post!
This photo was shot along the St. Clair rver in the morning on a sunny day this January.
1dxmk2, 100-400 mk 2, 1.4 extender.
1/4000, f/10, ISO 2000 at 560 mm. handheld.
Cropped 50%
Levels and noise reduction.
Im really interested in knowing opinions n my exposure and on making the image pop!

Mike, this looks good, colors are nice, exposure is nice, everything is in focus that should be. Nice job, and it pops.

I agree with Tim on all counts. Nice capture as all 3 subjects have good separation. Also nice workon choosing an aperture. I like how the water slowly fades away as a blur setting up a good contrast to the rest of the sharp in focus frame.

Very nice birds and nice pose on the three of them.
Odd choice for your settings... The image does not show much noise at this size but you could have lowered it. Same with the shutter speed, it froze everything nicely but you could have done it with a fraction of it. As for the aperture, that is more tricky. In the image the birds are pretty much aligned so that you could have used a higher aperture with shallower DoF but I am sure they were not following orders all the time!
Again, great capture and very nice birds

think it is spectacular and the red patch on the upper bird sets it up from plenty of blue right through a small snippet of bright red. And well done on f10 as well. Is it up on your wall?
