Ash Canyon 2 - March 2021-257-Edit-2.jpg

This is my first post in this forum.
This was not a setup. I shot this in Ash Canyon (Hereford, AZ) and was there to photograph hummingbirds when this moth surprised me with a visit.
Sony a9ii
200-600mm with 1.4 TC shot at 840mm
1/16000 at f/9, ISO 3200

Kurt welcome! What a super start too, the shutter speed ensured a sharp image and the wing position is ideal, super shot, I hope you will submit more images in the future. Is the flower some kind of aquilegia?

Wow! you really nailed it! high shutter speed bring the wings into focus. Lovely flowers and background. great composition as well. Looks like Hairy beardtonge that we see in the midwest, but they are usually white. Penstemon hirsuitus or grandiflora?
