Hi folks ... this time a fully self controlled image :bg3:
To my surprise this new Buzzard appeared on the perch without taking notice of the provided day chicks , he stayed for a while .... I enjoyed the unexpected visitor . Hope he will come more frequent ...
Image taken from the opposite side ( moved the chair hide ) due to the lighting .

Looks spot colours and tones are beautiful. A pleasing pose and ideal DOF - wouldn't change a thing.

Andreas, well lucky you ;-)

The pose is first-class for sure. That look back on a dorsal perch is superb.

Did you use a contrast gradient from bottom to top? The upper part looks very unsaturated compared to the bottom. Not sure how I feel on that but I love trying new things.

As far as the plumage, you brought out the tones on the right side nicely. I'm curious why so much variation in the tones on the left and top? They just seem more thin and washed, comparatively.

Thanks Jon and Brian , for your kind comments / feedback .

@ Brian ... no gradient was used , the gradient is natural due to the light fall . Subject was partly lit by the sun and partly in shade ... that might have caused the different coloration a the tonal variants within the plumage . Fur sure amplified by tonal adjustments from my side ..... :t3:w3. I could go darker on the LHS (plumage ) as viewed ... will see if can do it and repost another version . Glad you still like it ...

That's better Andreas. Very nice. I like the pose and the feather detail you captured. Nice perch which 'fits' the size of the bird. Colours on the bird look good. It's good that they are coming in more often, I hope they keep it up and come more frequently. Flight shots next :w3
